👑 I believe this is a time like never before! I sense that this next 40 days is more crucial than ever for the Body of Christ, as a nation, and even the nations of the world. I'm asking that as many as can, to join me in prayer and some form of fasting during this time. Darin and I both shared at our Kingdom gathering Saturday evening, about the season we are in, how the Presence of the Lord is so crucial for this time, to be able to walk in the Kingdom like never before...and how much more, when "The King is in the Field"!
Myself and many others believe there are several things that could potentially happen during the Fall of this year, and we truly need to be in a time of praying and seeking the Lord as never before, to prepare ourselves spiritually for where we are, and what we will need to walk through.🕑⌛️ #TimesAndSeasons #PrayAndPrepare #BestOfTimes #WorstOfTimes #UnprecedentedTimes
“Seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near.” ~ Isaiah 55:6
~ MONTH OF ELUL: The King is in the Field
Last night, Sept. 2nd, at sundown we entered the month of Elul on the Hebrew Calendar.
The Hebrew month of Elul marks the beginning of a 40-day season of repentance and turning to God, which goes through the Feast of Trumpets at the beginning of October, until the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) on Oct 12th.
Elul is a time of harvest, traditionally when the King went into the harvest fields outside the city. At such times, anyone could approach him, and he received all with a smiling face and a radiant countenance. This 40 day period is a time to seek the Lord now more than ever, to spend time with Him, in returning and repentance (Teshuvah), and in preparation for the "New Year" that is coming at the end of next month. Seek Him now, while He is near! #SeekTheLord #WhileHeIsNear #TheKingIsInTheField🌾👑
Yes, the Lord is always available to us, but there are times He draws nearer than others...let us seek the Lord now while He may be found. Let us seek to hear His Spirit clearer, and be led by His Spirit more than ever before! It will be very crucial to do so during this season. Elul is called “the month of repentance,” “the month of mercy,” and “the month of forgiveness”.
The month of Elul as the doorway to the High Holy Day Season later in the Fall, known as the "Fall Feasts". In the Hebraic belief, the arrival of the month of Elul is a signal to switch spiritual gears. It reminds us that Rosh Hashanah is on its way, followed closely by Yom Kippur — and thus there’s no better time to begin the process of introspection, also known as ‘heshbon hanefesh’, accounting of the soul. How was my last year? Where is my soul? Have I come into more soul healing, and walking closer with Him? Am I walking in His ways?
This is also why fasting and prayer is so important during this time, to prepare our heart and soul for the season ahead, and to come into the "New Year" with clean hands and a pure heart! 👐💖
TESHUVAH ~ 40 Days of Repentance & Returning 🙇♂️🙇♀️🙏🔄
Last night at sundown also began the time known as "Teshuvah". This is the 40 days between today and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement).
This is prophetically where we are as the body of Christ, in more ways than I can express! We need to prepare our hearts, repent, and return to His Presence with fresh fire...unlike never before!🔥
Teshuvah is a compound word consisting of the Hebrew “Tashan,” meaning “Return,” and “Hey,” the last letter of the “JHVH” name for God. The “HEY” in “JHVH” represents the Shekinah, or manifest presence of God. Thus, Teshuvah is a time to return to the presence of God. It is also understood that returning to God is accompanied by repentance. Repentance and returning leads to abiding in His Presence as never before. We need this now more than ever, and will need it in the days to come even more!
Observant Jews have an understanding that this 40-day period leading up to the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur), and especially the last ten days between the Feast of Trumpets and the Day of Atonement, represents opportunities to repent and avoid the judgment of God.
For Christians, these 40 days are an invitation to repent and enter into unity with God through the Blood of Christ. However, for the unbelievers Teshuvah is a solemn warning of the judgment to come.
This duality of Teshuvah, as an invitation and a warning, is illustrated in two of the scriptures which are associated with it. Psalm 27 speaks to the benefits of living in God’s presence and seeking His face. He will keep us in time of trouble and allow us to see His goodness while we live. I cannot express how much this is and will be needed for this time!‼️
In Ezekiel 33, the Lord commands us to warn the unbelievers to repent and save themselves from the judgment to come. We are also told that we must warn the righteous of their folly, so they can repent lest they suffer judgment also. Thus, Teshuvah calls believers to repent and come into God’s presence, and also calls on us to evangelize a lost and dying world.✨️ #Return #Repentance #Teshuvah #Reformation #ItIsTime #GodsJudgementsAreRighteous
✨️Note: Yes, God's judgments are still seen among His people, and His judgements are righteous and holy! He judges between what is right and what is wrong...among people, among nations, among His Church. We see this clearly seen throughout scripture, in Paul's writings to the churches, and even in the letters in Revelation that were given by Jesus to the churches. He does not judge harshly (and we are not to either), but He is still the Judge, and He still judges. But...in His judgments, He always has mercy.✨️
Let's pray together:
“Father, we give thanks for this beautiful season when Your face is shining upon us and we may come to You! We seek Your face on behalf of our nation, that in Your great mercy, You will remember Your Covenant with America and forgive our sin. Let healing come to cities, and homes, and families, and to the land itself. Let prodigal sons and daughters feel Your presence and come to themselves and return home. Let this be a time of national turning from sin to seek You and call upon You while You are near. We Appeal to Heaven! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.” ~ An Appeal to Heaven
In prayer,
